MEET OUR STAFF!!
If you don’t already know her, this is Perida Mitchell. Perida has been with us since July 13, 1993. (That’s 26 years, btw!) She started off as a Reference Assistant and took over as Manager a few years later. You may know her as a genealogy expert and go-to at the library (we do!). She is a native Thomasvillian, T’Ville High class of ‘78. She has one son and is a proud new grandmother of beautiful new addition to the family tree: her cute granddaughter. 🤗🎀

PERIDA RECOMMENDS: “Mr. Dream Merchant by Erroll J. Bailey. Right of middle passage to life. I like to give it as a graduation gift.”

LIBRARY SECRET: “I have had the privilege of being acknowledged in four books by local authors. Two dissertations and two books on the Harlem Renaissance. You can find them in our Genealogy Room.” 🤘🏽Go Perida!!
